Do you feel the difference when you start your day right compared to when you don’t?
One element of starting my day right is caffeine. If I don’t have a stout cup of home-roasted coffee brewed by the pour-over method in a ceramic mug by 9am I will get a head ache, I’ll be grumpy and I will not be productive. Some of you may know what I am talking about.
I came across a helpful acronym from John Piper. It refers to four scriptures in the Psalms. I have chosen to make these four scripture verses a daily prayer exercise. It’s like caffeine for my spirit.
I – “Incline my heart to your testimonies and not to selfish gain.” Psalm 119:36
O – “Open my eyes, that I may behold wonderous things from your law.” Psalm 119:18
U – “Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth; Unite my heart to fear your name.” Psalm 86:11
S – “Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.” Psalm 90:14
