There are certain times in the life of a man when you find yourself in a moment of passage. When your in a situation and you think “wow, I’m my own man”. Some are more significant than others, like the birth of your first child, or your first mortgage payment, but all are important nontheless. Today was one of those moments for me… I purchased and assembled my very own grill. A modest but manly, grill. I filled it with charcol (which is the manly and only way to grill), lit it and thirty minutes later my family was eating steak. There is something about standing over an open flame, having the smell of a charcol fire on your skin, watching meat brown and cook. It is an ancient art that hasn’t changed much since the beginning of mankind. I’m far from a grillmaster but today was one of my moments in becoming a man.
“Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.” 1Cor. 16:13

You know what’s manly? Not using an phone, and not caring about the Olympics. That’s manly.
