Good Entertainment

A few weeks ago the Lord gave me a message which turned into a post on the “Filter idea”. Last week at the Dad’s Conference I was further convicted about what I allow into the “residence” of the Holy Spirit. I am broken when I think of what I have permitted my family to be exposed to in the name of entertainment. I feel blessed that the Lord has gripped me of this before my firstborn son has entered the world. I have purposed to seek only good and redemptive forms of entertainment.
Last night was date night. Elizabeth wanted to watch a movie. We wanted something good; Philippians 4:8 good. We knew of the series of Janette Oke novels put to movie. We rented “Love’s Abiding Joy” and it was delightful. The cinematography was beautiful. The music was great. The plot was redemptive. When the movie was over we did not feel violated. I didn’t have to work to get parts of the movie out of my head. We went to bed with good thoughts on our mind.
Thank the Lord for this line of movies by Fox Faith.

I enjoyed that movie, too.

Kyle, the girls & I have the first 3 movies that go along with that one! If the 2 of you would like to borrow them, let us know. They are so refreshing, aren’t they? I miss the days of simpler things… growing up I used to love watching Little House and The Waltons. Well, just let us know if you would like to borrow the other 3. MW.

I saw a couple movies from that series. Excellent.
