I have always found St. Patrick’s Day irritating. It seems that every year more people in North America celebrate this holiday and they have no idea why. It has become one more excuse to have a party and become drunk on “irish” alcohol. I don’t like posers and March 17th is full of them here in America.
This has made me do a little research on who St. Patrick really is and why he is such a big deal? Was he the person to brew the first pint of Guinness? Did he create the color green? I was surprised to find out that he was a man who’s life is definitely worth celebrating. He was called to be a missionary to Ireland and win the country to Jesus, and he did!
